The second in the Trilogy series! Basically here I just wanted to drop the time from my last race and hopefully break the 1 hour mark. Same course, same venue, let’s do this!
I felt in better shape than last trilogy, although I always go out without any expectations to races, I was expecting to do better. As explained before, the swim isa cheaters paradise, where people actually can walk part of the swim. On the race start, it seems the organizers wanted to stop this and not letting the people walk. Although they tried the best, they couldn’t. Is quite problematic, specially when you are swimming and people stand up and start walking in front of you.
I believe I had a good swim. Now off to the bike. Felt way better than last time, and went on a suicidal pace. Tried not to leave anything on the tank. Same course, same wind patterns.
Finally off the bike and into the run. On this race there wasn’t a lot of peeps from the team like last time. So I needed to represent well. Ran the best I could, and I felt good as well (I mean, of course I was dying… but had a good overall run).
Although I felt faster than last time, to my surprise I was SLOWER than last time. I was so pissed with myself, how was it possible, I knew I could break up the 1:01 from the first Trilogy. But in fact I was faster…. Only on the bike and run. The swim slowed down by 2 min compared to last race. Plus, it was not only me. My friends had a slower swim too, so that meant one thing… there was a current on the swim which made everyone slower.
