It has been around 4 weeks since I finished the Half Iron race. I have taken this time to relax and rest. Unfortunately I had to go to the doctor since I still had some minor pains on my left knee.

Although I was a bit scared that something had happened on my left knee on the race,  I was still positive that nothing major would have happened. So I went to the doctor and he had me taken some x-rays and MRI’s. Additionally I requested an additional MRI on my right knee, that although this is the indestructible knee, I have a clicking that has been bothering me since I finished my first 2 marathons on January 2010.

Left Knee X-Rays

The results came and the awesome news are that all my ligaments, tendons, muscles and meniscus are intact. However I have minimal joint fluid, chondral softening and a multioculated synovial cyst in the left knee and a tiny Baker cyst on the right knee.

I have been prohibited of doing any running, martial arts or any other sport that involves my lower legs (which is driving me NUTS!!!), but it seems ok to do some swimming and bike. For the time being, I’m going to be under physical therapy for 4 weeks. We'll see how everything evolves during that time, after all I have to be ready for next year Ironman training.

Did I already said that not doing any exercise is driving me INSANE?!
